Relayz Code

A coding agent in your editor.

Our own extension for VS Code and Cursor. It reads and searches your project, edits files and runs commands with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, and asks before it changes anything.

For VS Code and Cursor

You stay in control.

Every change appears as a diff you can apply or reject, and every command waits for your go-ahead, unless you choose otherwise.

  • Ask first asks before every edit and command
  • Auto-edit applies edits and asks before commands
  • Full access does both without asking
  • Paths outside your workspace are refused

The handler accepts negative quantities. I'll reject them and return a clear 400 error:

Features

Everything a coding agent needs

Codex-style chat panel

Lives in the activity bar, with recent chats, suggestions and searchable history for each project.

Understands your project

Indexes your workspace so it can find the relevant code from a plain-English question, reads files, and links path:line references you can click to open.

Safe edits

Each change appears as an inline diff with Apply and Reject.

Runs commands

Runs PowerShell commands and shows their output, with Run and Reject.

Add files your way

Type @, right-click a file and choose Add to Relayz Code Chat, or drag files from Windows Explorer.

Pick your model

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and Cursor (and their Thinking tiers), on your Relayz key with no extra AI bill.

Edit in place

Select code, press Ctrl+I and describe the change. The result is highlighted in the editor with Accept, Reject and Show diff.

Tab autocomplete

Turn on Relayz Tab in the status bar for ghost-text suggestions as you type; press Tab to accept or Alt+\ to ask for one.

Stays up to date

Checks this site twice a day and offers new versions; Relayz Studio on Windows updates itself in one click.

Press Ctrl+Alt+R to ask about the selected code. The active file and selection are sent along automatically.

Relayz Studio

Prefer a ready-made editor?

Relayz Studio is a complete code editor, like Cursor, with Relayz Code built in. Its chat sits in the right-hand side bar, and there's no Copilot or Microsoft sign-in. It's based on VSCodium, the open-source build of VS Code, so your usual extensions and shortcuts work.

Also as archives: Windows .zip · Linux .tar.gz

About 150–240 MB per download

Windows: run relayz-studio-setup-x64.exe. It installs for your account only (no admin rights), adds shortcuts and the relay-studio command, and later updates install the same way. If SmartScreen warns, click More info, then Run anyway.
Mac: unzip, then right-click Install Relayz Studio.command and choose Open. It copies the app to Applications and signs it for your Mac.
Linux: sudo apt install ./relayz-studio-amd64.deb, or extract the .tar.gz and run relay-studio/install.sh.
Open a folder, click the gear in the Relayz Code panel on the right, choose Set API key and paste your coding key.
Install

Up and running
in a minute.

You'll need a coding key from the Relayz owner.

Download Relayz Code for VS Code and Cursor
Download relay-code.vsix. Don't double-click it, because Windows may open it in Visual Studio.
In VS Code or Cursor open Extensions, click ⋯ and choose Install from VSIX…, then pick the file.
Open Relayz Code in the side bar, click the gear, choose Set API key and paste your coding key.
Ask something like "Explain how this project is structured". To update later, install a newer download the same way; your key and settings are kept.
